Can we have our ceremony at The Idle Hour?

Yes! The Idle Hour's outdoor terrace and indoor spaces can both be configured for ceremonies. Our Events Manager will work with you to set up the layout that fits your vision, whether that's a lakeside outdoor ceremony, an intimate indoor ceremony, or a combination of both.

How many guests can The Idle Hour accommodate for a wedding?

Our indoor Event Center seats up to 70 guests. The full outdoor Lakeside Terrace accommodates up to 60 guests. The half-terrace seats up to 35. We can combine indoor and outdoor spaces depending on your needs and the time of year.

Do you allow outside caterers?

The Idle Hour provides full in-house catering through our on-site chef. We do not allow outside catering, which simplifies your planning — one team handles everything from food to wine to bar service.

Is there a minimum spend or guest minimum for weddings?

Yes, private events have a food and beverage minimum depending on the space and day of the week. Contact our Events Manager at Events@theidlehourlaketahoe.com for current minimums and package pricing.

How far in advance should we book a wedding at The Idle Hour?

We recommend reaching out at least 3–6 months in advance, especially for peak Tahoe summer and fall dates. Popular dates fill quickly.

Do you offer wine tastings as part of a wedding package?

Absolutely. Guided wine tastings can be incorporated into your event. With our Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine list, it's a natural fit for wine-loving couples and their guests.

As a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence recipient, we take our wine list seriously.
